What is neck pain?
Have you ever slept funny and woke up with a sharp pain in the back of your neck? Sure you have. You may have a pinched nerve in the neck. The neck muscles may have relaxed too much and when you move your head to greet the new day and you find you have a stiff neck. A typical home remedy for neck pain is to reach for Advil or Aleve. Hopefully that will stop the neck soreness. If that fails to work and you find yourself with constant neck pain maybe you buy a special pillow for neck pain. These home remedies will work for mild cases of neck stiffness. However if these fail to work this is where a chiropractic adjustment may be the answer to your sudden neck pain.
Treating Neck Pain with Chiropractic
Here at Core Health Darien we will do a thorough exam to determine what caused your neck pain. We will find what caused you to have the neck pain during our exam which includes xrays and palpation. We then formulate which chiropractic treatment will offer you the best relief for your neck pain. We have found that using chiropractic care along with massage and physical therapy speeds the healing time for even the most chronic and severe cases of neck pain. Some patients will present with headaches and neck pain. These patients are quite happy to have their neck soreness disappear as their headaches go away. The spinal bones in the neck are often the cause of headaches when the spinal vertebra subluxate and create tension on the base of the brain. Chronic neck pain sufferers tend to have headaches.
