Lumbar Spinal Decompression Therapy
Dr. McKay was one of the first doctors in the country to offer non-surgical spinal decompression over 15 years ago, below is his story:
Like many people, I was experiencing back pain. This was going on for over a year and was frustrating for me to say the very least; I couldn’t exercise regularly anymore so my weight went up which just compounded the pain I already had – my everyday routine became a daily physical struggle.
Core Health has been offering non-surgical spinal decompression therapy for over 15 years. Our broad experience allows us to help the worst cases of back pain requiring spinal decompression. In fact Dr. McKay was the first to introduce Spinal Decompression DRX 9000 to the area. He had a bad back and was looking for a way to treat the injured discs in his lower back. Nothing was helping and he had pain for over 2 years. He gained weight because the back pain prevented him from exercising. Here is his story.
One day a salesman waltzes into my office without an appointment. He wanted to tell me about this great new machine that would prevent people from having surgery performed on their spine; I politely listened to him for about twenty minutes, but I was in a hurry and wasn’t really interested in buying his expensive machine. After all, I’m a chiropractor; I fix bad backs with my hands – what machine could possibly be better than me?
He knew I wasn’t buying. As I was about to get rid of him, he put his foot in the door I was closing on him and told me he’d be willing to have me test drive the DRX-9000 for three months without any obligations – all he requested of me is that I put my hardest cases to the test. At that moment, I immediately knew who would be first to try out the machine: me.
They delivered the machine and thoroughly trained the staff in its use. After a couple of sessions I was happy to report that it worked really well for me and, to this day, still continues to work wonders on my patients. Now we use it in treating a variety of back problems ranging from spinal stenosis, herniated discs, bulging discs, and even failed back surgery – our most difficult cases always get results.”
Cervical Spinal Decompression for severe neck pain, radiating shoulder pain, arm pain and numbness
A herniated disc has a compressive force of about 250 lbs of pressure when the head is extended forward at it’s furthest. This can cause the discs between the bones to put additional pressure causing pain on the nerve and spinal cord as well. Cervical spinal decompression works to reduce the pressure off the nerve and cord without the need for dangerous surgery. So when someone has a an MRI showing a herniated disc in the neck we are able to help by re-positioning the vertebra through chiropractic procedures followed by decompression to get the disc back into place. It works really well when both treatments are combined.
